About Eddie Cooper

Mr. Cooper’s diverse background includes over 11 years of legal experience and 16 years as a business leader. He is a member of the State of Georgia Bar Association (1999) and the District of Columbia Bar Association (2010). His professional career includes outstanding success in academics; legal assignments; executive level management positions; rates and regulatory assignments; project management and team lead assignments; and in managing sales, service and collection business office operations.

Mr. Cooper’s degrees from Florida State University include an undergraduate degree in political science and communication with honors, 1978, and a Master of Science degree with an emphasis in Organizational Communications, 1980. He received his Juris Doctorate from the Georgia State University College of Law, 1998.

After graduation from law school, Mr. Cooper served as an independent contractor, representing AT&T at the Georgia Public Service Commission, on issues related to long distance deregulation, bundling network services, sharing network interfaces, and compliance with FCC and Public Service Commissions regulations.

Mr. Cooper was an associate in an Atlanta real estate firm from 2000 to 2003. From 2004-2007 he was a Partner in the law firm of Stevens & Cooper, LLC,  and later, Stevens, Cooper & Burditt, LCC, 2004-2007, focusing on real estate law including residential real estate closings, litigation, and title work. The firm handled civil litigation cases involving personal injury, medical malpractice and wrongful death claims, and misdemeanor criminal defense. One major accomplishment in 2007 was representation of client in a medical malpractice/wrongful death claim, resulting in a $1.5 million settlement.

Mr. Cooper started his own general law practice in 2008. Practice areas include: large and small personal injury (automobile accidents, premise liability, slip and fall); medical malpractice and wrongful death; excessive force; criminal misdemeanor defense; employee severance agreement negotiations; family law; real estate; and contract disputes. One of Mr. Cooper’s significant accomplishments in 2009 was settling a $600,000.00 medical malpractice/wrongful death claim.

Mr. Cooper has settled personal injury claims for $38,000.00, $35,000.00, $35,000.00, $20,000.00, $13,000.00, $12,000.00, $8,500.00, $5,000.00, with numerous settlements under $5,000.00.
